The Greenwood Bantam Bombers hockey teams from 1976 to 1979 represented a golden era of youth hockey in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. Under the expert leadership of head coaches Al Pickering, Mark MacPherson, and Ken Peach, with consistent managerial support from Wayne MacPherson, these teams dominated the Bantam A division in Nova Scotia and the Maritimes.
1976–77 – Captured the Nova Scotia Bantam A Championship in Sydney, going undefeated with key wins over Antigonish, Whitney Pier, and Halifax Chebucto. (No Maritime Championship was held.)
1977–78 – Returned even stronger with six key players from the previous season. Won the provincial title in Kentville, then swept the first-ever Maritime Bantam A Championship in Summerside, PEI, including a dominant 12–1 win in the final.
1978–79 – Entering as underdogs with a mostly new roster, the Bombers stunned host Antigonish with a 5–4 overtime win in the opening game of provincials.
